They couldn't even offer a token to fans and sack that pointless, gossiping, tacky-tramp-skank Brady.
I'll hate them until the day they die.

Marlins 12.05, don’t get me wrong I’m not defending what our owners did but for balance it needed pointing out that team not owning its ground, even in the EPL, is not unusual. Villa should have been on the list as well.

Interestingly Arsenal still own the freehold of the Highbury land and it begs the question as to why Gollivan did not do something similar when we moved to the OS.

I think that you’ve misread my post, FINGER son! :-D

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
Firstly Dicksie not every post requires humour and I mearly glanced at the ins and outs it doesnt take much effort I can show you how to do it if you wish.

If you find it dull keeping an eye on something many supporters have invested years into then that's disrespectful to them imo.

Something people have followed for 30- 40 50 years seeing new people come in make promises and jeopardise this personal investment.
Me ? I just want something to be proud of , a place where I can get a snippet of what I had growing up going to UP going with my dad . I want my kids to have a chance to experiencing a bit of that. With our kind as in the old East end dying rapidly West ham was a place to sample some of the old characteristics and people that remained.

This is a West ham forum of general discussion and I dont see an actual category on humour, we aren't all wannabe comics. I have humour and yes I get WHO maybe lighter hearted than other forums. I shall ne the first to participate in those posts when I judge it REQUIRED mate.

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
There are some very odd, miserable, dry, dull, dim, humourless wankers on this forum who think that keeping a tab of ins and outs constitutes as thinking that posters are getting above themselves, Bishopsfinger son!

They offer this forum absolutely nothing and can’t see the irony of their potshots at posters for “ruining their enjoyment of WHO” when they just clog-up this forum with their dull, whiny, inane posts and make this place so boring!

No wonder posters fuck off for so long - or never come back!

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
It's not about being a financial genius it's about seeing the level of ins and outs. To compete in the top 6 taken from their words not ours. The spend just doesnt equate to getting established there..

No we cant be spending 80 mil on players but we should be spending more than we are. They are getting good interest on a loan from the club and I'm sure the transfers aren't actually reducing the owners bank balance.

That aside they simply haven't delivered on the players the stadium and on any good will. It had to take threats of violence, planned marches( that they had forcibly squashed) and demonstrations.

DO NOT FORGET EHAT THEY HAVE ACTUALLY DONE TO THE CLUB PLEASE.

Comma yes but we needlessly took a big asset off the balance sheet and alienated a massive part of our loyal support all for the benefit of £1.5 million per annum

Well said and spot on. It's always amazed me how many finacial (football) geniuses there are on this site. It just surprises me that none of them actually work for a professional football club.

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
Our net spend this season was back to the usual 20 odd million mark, which considering we're meant to be in the top 20 richest clubs is fucking terrible.

We have a manager with a proven track record who needed A LOT of money to transform the squad which in parts is still lacking massively (full back areas and central midfield and even another striker).

They will never be forgiven for taking us to the fucking washing machine. Sooner they fuck off the better.

Spurs have a £600m mortgage on their ground so effectively the banks own it.

There HAS to come a time when taxpayers tire of paying for London Stadium and the owners of WHU (whoever they may be by then) are offered it at a knockdown price (possibly £0.00)

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
We are not the only EPL team that does not own its home ground.

Bournemouth pay £300,000 rent per year for their ground.

Brighton lease their ground from the local Council and University.

Manchester City ground’s freehold is owned by the local Council and is paid circa £4M pa by the club

Newcastle United, the free hold of the ground is owned by Newcastle City Council.

In many respects WHU is no different from many clubs in not being owner of its home ground.

I think we've been through a couple of recessions with players on ridiculous wages, and those recessions have been caused by those on ridiculous city bonuses.

Any resentment towards them is out there now....

Re: Talksport phone yesterday
best squad of talented players since the '86 era

the stadium is an issue but West Ham fans in full voice can make that uplifting for the players, which is kind of the whole purpose, to raise the effort of the team

could be in the Championship with Fulham, Charlton etc

lets see end of this campaign

I believe at some point in the future S & G will try to sell the club but it's going to get harder to run as a long term business with players wages spiral out of control or realms of reality.

Players on £25'000 a week and nowhere near the 1st team - £1,300,000 a year playing to a hundred people a game. Unsustainable

A massive post-Brexit recession is coming for the UK that will hit so hard it will make those kind of wages obscene to millions of fans and there will be negative reaction.
